The stables have been established for more than 46 years and is now run by three generations of the family. The original stable block is a purpose built victorian building with cobble stone flooring in a most attractive setting with sea veiws of the Needles to one side and Lymington Harbour to the other.

> FREE LAPTOPS FOR LOW INCOME FAMILIES

Free Laptop & Internet

More than 270,000 free laptops with broadband will be given away to low income families under a new Government scheme.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown says he wants all families to be linked up to their children’s schools via the internet. It will enable them to access reports on their attainment, behaviour and other needs.

To make that achievable, he will pledge £300m of investment to help poorer families who might not otherwise be able to afford it. Mr Brown was addressing an international education forum in Westminster today.

> NEW ELECTRONIC BLOOD TRACKING SYSTEM AT ST MARY’S HOSPITAL

St Mary's Hospital, Isle of Wight

St. Mary’s Hospital has taken delivery of a new, state of the art, Blood Tracking System. The Hospital is one of the first hospitals in the UK to install the new system which will provide an electronic audit trail of all blood units in the hospital.

The Department of Health require Hospital Blood Banks to be able to track each individual blood component. The current system at St. Mary’s Hospital already tracks every blood component and an electronic issue system logs every unit that is issued from the blood bank, but then a paper trail is used to track every unit.

> MAY DAY CELEBRATIONS ON THE ISLAND

The Isle of Wight will be celebrating May Day in style this year as a new event will bring a whole new dimension to the age old tradition of May Day dancing.

The May Day Jouvay is a vibrant new Solent-wide celebration which fuses together dance styles as different as Calypso, Folk and Morris with Samba. The Isle of Wight Council-run Carnival Learning Centre is co-ordinating events on the Island to link in with partner organisations along the south coast.
