ABOUT

We are a small group of 20 to 30 year olds that would like to see a little more time invested in the local area with youths in mind.

These days young people are ever so more being referred to as a nuisance or simply making the streets look untidy, As if these critics were never young,

Looking down at how youths express themselves through their clothes or hair styles as if they were crazy. When they’re simply trying to be young and independent or just full out original.

For years we have listened to the stories of the hippy movement or mods and rockers and anti establishment bands etc.. trying to make their mark on society and the world of their time.

If you look around, you may feel that there is a distinct lack of anything stimulating for the youth and young adult population of the Isle of Wight to enjoy but you CAN change that!!

OUR OBJECTIVES

This sites main aim is to help collect the current thoughts amongst the youth population of the Isle of Wight in one place. Then this information can be presented to Isle of Wight council, Neighbourhood services or anyone else in control of funding that can help make a difference. We can then keep you updated on any progress with regular news updates. Even though we have all grown up on the island.

We are completely independent of any council or government run groups, committee’s etc. (Even through blood or friendship). We are independent and impartial and want the island young voices to unite and be heard with open ears. As a rule, We will supply the youth council with all Idea’s submitted and the results on a regular basis.

Any schemes we supply data to or work with in anyway will be given a place on the site where regular updates, Which will be posted to keep all progress as transparent as possible. This is to go as far as to naming and shaming any organisations which claims to have youth values yet ignore your views or data presented to them when making decision which affect you.

Please assist us by submitting your Idea’s and filling out any Questionnaire on current projects in the area to help those who are trying to help you!!

SUPPORT THE PROJECT

Do you feel you have something to offer the community but don’t know where to turn or who to speak to. We are accepting offers of support from anyone who feels they can some how help those who are trying to make a difference on the Island.

This may be in the form of time for a community or youth group, or maybe a bit of land or a hall that can be used for a local youth charities, or maybe Donations of old equipment which may come in handy for youth clubs etc.

The IYP is not personally asking for help, We simply will make the information available to those who are need of aid for the cause. We will network and provide an opportunity to bring people together who can help each other.

If you feel you may be able to help the Island’s young community then please drop up a line using our on-line Contact Us Page.
