The Sandown Bay Safer Neighbourhoods team remains dedicated to maintaining an active presence in every community by continuing its regular tour with the Isle of Wight Mobile Police Office.
Residents and visitors are welcome to discuss policing and community safety issues with their local police officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) on the 14th of each month.

Police are appealing for possible victims of fraud on the Isle of Wight to come forward.
Officers from the island’s Targeted Patrol Teams (TPT) are investigating several reports of money being obtained from members of the public by deception.
Investigating officer, PC Sam Burrows, said: “A number of Islanders have lost money by paying hundreds of pounds in cash in advance on the promise of discounted electrical goods, which are then never delivered.

Last of the tents
Vestas roundabout has now been cleared by the bailiffs. The enforcement officers arrived today at the Vestas roundabout to remove the last of the green supporters & ex Vesta workers after a county court hearing gave Mr Hanslip, the land owner permission to evict them.
After some talking, occupiers of the site at St Cross business park, Newport told the enforcement officers it would take a little while for them to clear the site but bailiffs said they still only had until 12.00 before the deadline came into place.

A Newport skate park has been temporarily closed by Isle of Wight Council after much of the equipment was vandalised.
Damage to the ramps at the Seaclose Park facility was first reported to the council on Monday 4 May and the site has been closed to the public in the interests of safety.
One ramp has had its side ripped off while a quarter-pipe has been effectively dismantled. The running surface on another ramp has been broken.
