Young sportsmen and women from the Isle of Wight will shortly head off to a warmer climate as they compete in the World Island Youth Games.
This year’s games are being held in The Azores in Portugal and the Isle of Wight is sending athletes in three different sports. These are swimming, sailing and athletics.

A fascinating day is promised to anyone taking part in a forthcoming wildlife event with a difference.
On Wednesday 2 June at Firestone Copse near Wootton Bridge, an event called ‘Go Wild in the Woods’ takes place between 1030 – 1630 with a range of activities being held including tree climbing, a canoe safari, butterfly walks and pond dipping.

Looking for something to do in the spring / summer weather? If so, why not have a go at horse or pony riding at Hill farm stable.
The stables have been established for more than 46 years and is now run by three generations of the family. The original stable block is a purpose built victorian building with cobble stone flooring in a most attractive setting with sea veiws of the Needles to one side and Lymington Harbour to the other.

Films are Written, created and edited by a group of young adults. They don’t create boring documentaries or informercials, they are films by the youths for the youths so although they highlight a very important, serious issues, they also aim to make films that you and your mates would actually want to watch! With the World Snooker Championships currently taking place in Sheffield, Isle of Wight Council is unveiling it’s latest Sport4kids course.
An 8 week snooker course will begin on 8 May with interest in the sport currently high with the likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan, John Higgins & Steve Davis all competing on national TV.
