Young voters who may receive an unstamped letter from Island MP Andrew Turner asking for their views are being reassured they will not be out of pocket as a result.
They are being invited to get a refund from the IW Conservative Association. The problem surfaced when a young voter contacted Mr Turner and said she was asked to pay £1.30 for a letter which had not been stamped.
A letter was sent out to young people on the Island who have turned 18 since the last General Election, outlining how important the coming election will be for them, and asking them to fill in a questionnaire to give Mr Turner their views on a number of local and national issues.

A scheme aimed at reducing the number of collisions that occur at a junction and bend along the Mersley Downs Road has got underway.
Over the last three years there have been 13 accidents resulting in personal injury, including one fatal incident, along the stretch of road near the Lime Kiln Shute junction. The Isle of Wight Council is undertaking resurfacing and re-profiling work at the bend, and making improvements to visibility at the junction of Lime Kiln Shute.

A group of pupils from Osborne Middle School have given up their lunch playtime to take part in a litter pick as part of the Big Tidy Up.
Over a two day period (17-18 November) the group collected 13 bags of litter from their local area, 14 fewer than they collected the previous year indicating that anti-littering work within the community is paying off.

The summers is now over, the tourists have gone home and Southern Vectis are making more changes to the services they provide.

From the 20th December 2009 our Isle of Wight bus service is changing, Some routes will now have 50% less buses running and some routes dropped completely.

Last of the tents
Vestas roundabout has now been cleared by the bailiffs. The enforcement officers arrived today at the Vestas roundabout to remove the last of the green supporters & ex Vesta workers after a county court hearing gave Mr Hanslip, the land owner permission to evict them.
After some talking, occupiers of the site at St Cross business park, Newport told the enforcement officers it would take a little while for them to clear the site but bailiffs said they still only had until 12.00 before the deadline came into place.
