Thursday, 03 December 2009 15:58

A woman has been taken to St Marys hospital after a collision with a Southern Vectis bus in the centre of Newport town.

Police have since closed the bus lane at the junction of the High Street and Pyle Street, as they investigate how she was injured.

It happened at around 2:20pm on Thursday afternoon. The woman was first treated at the scene for head injuries which are not thought to be life threatening. The number 1 bus service is currently effected by the road closure and there are delays of around 10 mins because of slow moving traffic.

Some drivers think they own that road. I've nearly been run down outside mac d's a few times. They need to slow down when they are coming in and out of time.
